- Welcome Kiwi's Adventure
Day K is here! After loads of coding, drawing, modelling, typing and on-last-days-little-sleeping we have crossed the finish line. Kiwi is ready for his adventure! You can play the game at our itch.io page. We are nervous, excited and eager to show our first game. It has been a harsh road, a month of challenges, doubts and issues that created difficulties to our quest… but we are proud to say the three words: we made it. It seems something easy to say at this point but at some moments we thought we weren’t going to be able to say it. We have learnt of our mistakes, faced the boss of dissapointment, gained lots of exp and surely leveled up on our skills. Fortunately our work and clearity of ideas has led us to give players a finished oeuvre which we are proud of and that we would like to improve in the future with more levels and options. If it’s better or worse it’s something you players will have to say ;) We would like to thank our teachers from the Game and VR Dev Degree of Rafael Alberti School in Cádiz for their help and continuos support, to family and friends that have tested the game and given some good advices and to all GitHub GameOff community for the warm welcome and feedback on the Discord server. Greetings from:
- Project Leader & Artist Rubus
- Main Programmer Boof
- Music Composer Aradian
- And the one who writes this words: Media Manager Deivid Now it is time to let Kiwi fly! :D
- Third Sprint Devlog!
Read MoreHello there! How are you? We are tired, very tired, but still alive xD The final countdown for Github’s Game Off draws near, but Project Kiwi is growing well and healthy. Oh, wait, I said Project Kiwi, but as you may have seen on our landing page, we have a final title and a logo. A beautiful one indeed! Say hello to Kiwi’s Adventure! We have to thank our artist Rubus for such and amazing illustration!
- Devlog Round 2
Read MoreHello again! Ready for our second devlog? Here we go! We finished the first sprint with a testing session, where we found some issues. For example, the jump physics were a little to slow, so during this week we fixed them. We kept up the hard work to have a complete version of the first level at the end of the week.
- First Devlog
Read MoreHi there! We are pleased to share our first devlog where we will talk about the current state of our game project. After the first brainstrorming session, where we discused our ideas for our project for Game Off 2023 (being “Scales” the theme for the jam), we came with the idea of a recursive dungeon crawler / platformer where the main character (MC from now on) shifts its size to become small and smaller. Our artist had an idea of a bird-like cute treasure hunter on his mind and the next day he showed us his first sketch. We have to say that we falled in love with Kiwi, the treasure hunter parakeet, and we got down to work!
- Project Kiwi coming soon
Read MoreAfter a long journey, treasure hunter Kiwi arrives at the final destination of his adventure, carrying only his poncho and loads of cuteness. Kiwi traverses through the ominous temple ruins when he steps on a trap, a giant boulder falls from the ceiling and threatens to crush him! But luckily he manages to get inside the treasure room in time, not so luckily he gets trapped there in the process. In the center of the room he finds a stone table, with a cube-shaped treasure chest with some intricate designs on one sides. While looking around, he spots a small balcony carved into the squares that cover the sides of the chest, and he finds himself shrunk and standing on the chest’s balcony! The intricate square tiles on the chest turn out to be a continuation of the dungeon, a final test stands between him and his treasure.
